Community Meeting | Focus: Community Outreach - Speaking Up

Many of us want to help open hearts and minds to the urgent possibility of a more just response to immigrant neighbors, but don't know how to respond when more negative views arise. How can we build a compassionate movement of inclusion for our new neighbors and for others on the move who need safe and sustainable homes? Let’s speak up and speak out in our communities!

October’s MVIC Community Meeting will introduce opportunities to learn how to speak more clearly and effectively about immigrant realities. Our gathering will encourage us to reflect on where our varied communities are in terms of their understanding of migrant realities and what messages and experiences have been helpful in our personal journeys on this path. In addition, we will introduce upcoming opportunities to learn and practice more effective outreach about migrant realities.

The meeting will also include opportunities to meet others and share updates on events and activities in your organizations and communities. Bring your organization’s printed information to share on tables we’ll provide. And, of course, enjoy snacks and drinks. Please RSVP by October 22. As a Coalition we are about opening doors for and with immigrants and together working towards justice. Systemic change comes through clear, united calls from the grassroots. Join us In October to be part of that urgently needed movement.
